Splash season, we hardly knew ye

If you’ve been waiting for just the right time to hit the wading pool with your tot, your days are numbered.

That’s right, though it seems like the wading pools just opened last week, most of them have already closed for the season (Bitter Lake, Carl Anderson, Dahl, Delridge, E. Queen Anne, E.C. Hughes, Hiawatha, Soundview, South Park, Wallingford). The rest have just days remaining (wrings hands nervously):

  • Magnuson Wading Pool (7400 Sand Point Way NE), which is open from 12 to 6:30 p.m. daily, will close at the end of day Aug. 29.
  • The Green Lake, Lincoln Park (West Seattle), Van Asselt (South Seattle) and Volunteer Park (Capitol Hill) wading pools will all close at the end of day Sept. 6. All are open daily 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The city’s spray pools are soon shutting down for the season (stifled sob).

  • The John C. Little, Pratt and Lower Judkins spray parks will close at the end of the day Sept. 6. They are open daily 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • The Ballard Commons and Miller Playfields spray parks will close at the end of day Oct. 15. They too are open daily 11 a.m. to 8 p.m .

The swimming season is also coming to an end (now I’m just hysterical).

Seattle beaches close Aug. 29 (EAST Greenlake, Magnuson, Madrona, Pritchard Island) and Sept. 6 (WEST Greenlake, Matthews, Madison, Mt. Baker, Seward).

Colman Pool in West Seattle closes Sept. 6, and Mounger Pool in Magnolia closes Sept. 12.

(Bucks self up) We’ll have lots of good fall ideas for babes coming up soon on Moms Alive, but right now we’ve got to hit the water!
